When you use the Ask IQ assistant, we receive and store:

• The question you type and the answer that is generated.
• Relevant page context, such as the page you asked from and recent messages in the conversation, so follow-up questions make sense.
• A browser session identifier used to reconnect your conversation. Your browser sends this identifier with each question, and our server stores a scrambled (hashed) version of it.
• Limited operational records used to maintain the service and prevent abuse, such as request counts, response times, error details, and which sources were used.

Ask IQ does not ask for your name or email. However, conversations are not fully anonymous: anything you type into a question is stored as written. Please do not enter student records or other sensitive personal information.

How long it is kept. Chat records currently have no automatic deletion schedule. They remain stored until they are deleted by an administrator.

Who can see it. Authorized CivicCentra administrators can access stored chat records to operate, review, and improve the service.

To generate an answer, your question, recent conversation, and relevant public source material are sent from our server to an outside AI processing provider. That provider processes the information under its own terms and may retain it for a limited time under those terms. Questions asking how to vote receive a standard message and are not sent to the AI processing provider, though they are still stored with other chat records.

A cloud hosting provider runs the site and stores the platform's chat records. Hosting and service providers may keep standard technical logs, such as request times and network addresses, under their own practices.

Your browser keeps the session identifier in its local storage so Ask IQ can reconnect you to your conversation when you return. It does not contain your name or contact details.

If you clear this site's data in your browser, you may not be able to reopen your earlier conversation, and Ask IQ will start a new one. Clearing browser storage does not delete chat records already stored on our server.

Numbers you enter in the tax calculators are calculated in your browser and are not saved or sent to our server by this platform. Results are estimates.

Based on a review of the site's code and its live pages, the public site does not use advertising pixels or third-party visitor analytics. Technical logs kept by hosting and service providers are described above.

The corrections link on the Transparency page opens your own email app to send a message to report@civiccentra.com. It is not a form on this website, and the site does not store what you send. Your email is handled like any other email we receive.

For privacy questions, contact info@civiccentra.com. A person at CivicCentra reads and responds to each request. There is no self-service or automated way to view or delete chat records. Because chats are not tied to a name or email, it helps to include the approximate date and wording of your question so we can try to locate it.
